About Coal Pit Vineyard
Coal Pit is a boutique family-owned vineyard in Gibbston, twenty minutes from Queenstown, in the highest sub-region of Central Otago. The vineyard comprises seven organic hectares, and the on-site winery has a tasting room, a barrel room, a laboratory and meeting rooms.
The winery faces north toward the Crown Range and the Kawarau River, and it is open by appointment only. The vineyard is run with a goal of building a heritage vineyard through sustainable farming.
Cellar Club members receive 15 percent savings and complimentary delivery. Rated 4.9 from 27 Google reviews, 26 of them five stars.
Hugo's background in the wine industry includes work on the New Zealand Winegrowers 2018 Strategic Review. The wines can be ordered online with shipping, and the family and its team tend the vines.
